So Molly and I were in bed almost asleep when Molly started kicking me while screaming that a strange noise was coming from the bathroom. I told her she was paranoid and it was probably just the toilet over-flowing. Half-a-minute later I heard Molly say, "Andy... I think we have a problem". I got up to find the brass connectors had seperated from the pipe underneath our bathroom sink. (And the water was not slow coming out). I tried to turn the shut-off valve but it didn't work. I then tried to to just screw the connector back on, but the water was too hot for that idea. (By this time there was 1 1/2 inches of water on our bathroom floor, and 2 inches of water on the basement floor). I had no clue as to where the house shut-off valve was, as this is a rental, so I told Molly to turn on the hot water in the other bathroom and kitchen thinking it would slow the water down until I could find the shut-off. This DID NOT work. I then called the owners, (who live in California), then when they didn't answer, I called our neighbor AND my boss. Both were more than happy to come over at 10:00 at night to save the poor helpless Woodbury's with their issues. 2 hours later we had all the water cleaned up with shop vacs and the main valve to the house shut off. Surprisingly enough, Conner slept thru the whole thing!
This is a tragedy but still very hilarious. I loved how you tried so many different ideas yet none of them worked.
